What is artistic swimming?

Artistic swimming (also know as synchronized swimming) is an aquatic sport where members of a team perform coordinated movements to music.  It is a symphony of skills and unique body positioning’s that express emotions to an audience.

What prior experience does my athlete need to participate?

All athletes must have completed station 7 in the SwimRVA Swim School or completed an evaluation to be placed on the team. The athlete should know how to perform freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke as these skills are widely used in the practices and performances.

How much does Artistic Swimming cost per month?

The membership fee for Artistic Swimming is $159 per month for Novice, Intermediate and Age Group. It is $119 for new, Mermaid group members.  We will prorate the first month.  The membership will auto-renew on the first of each month.  You can cancel at the end of any month.  There are no cancelation fees. There is a one-time annual fee of $145

What days of the week are practices?

SwimRVA’s Artistic Swimming Novice group will practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30PM – 8:00PM at SwimRVA-CSAC. The Intermediate and Age Groups will practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7-8:30pm at SwimRVA-CSAC. The Mermaid group will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:40-6:30pm at SwimRVA-Meadowbrook.

How do I pay for the membership?

Families will have two options to pay for their membership:

Automatic debit from a checking or savings account: Customers will have either their checking or savings account debited on the 1st day of every month for the upcoming months membership. To withdraw from swim lessons, families will need to provide SwimRVA with 14 days advanced written notice. (Withdrawal forms will be provided at the front desk)

Automatic debit from a credit card or debit card: Customers will have their credit card or debit card (Master Card, Visa, or American Express) debited on the 1st day of every month for the upcoming months membership. To withdraw from swim lessons, families will need to provide SwimRVA with 14 days advanced written notice. (Withdrawal forms will be provided at the front desk)

What if I join in the middle of the month?

You will pay the pro-rated amount for the month in which you are starting. You will then go into our automatic billing system for all future months.

How do I withdraw from artistic swimming?

Families who wish to withdraw from artistic swimming will be asked to provide us with 14 days written notice of their class cancellation. Withdrawal forms can be found at the front desk. Members need to confirm that SwimRVA has received their request. No verbal cancellation requests, handwritten letters or typed emails will be accepted as an acceptable form of cancellation.
