New Outdoor Seating at SwimRVA-CSAC
You may have noticed new seating outside of SwimRVA-CSAC. Alex Brehm, a member of the SwimRVA Rapids Swim Team and Scout Troop 502 from Mechanicsville, fulfilled requirements in order to complete the rank of Eagle Scout by overseeing the construction of eight picnic tables which have been generously donated to SwimRVA. In addition to this, Alex contributed to landscaping efforts to create off-season storage. His fundraising efforts not only covered the project’s costs but also raised additional funds, which will be donated to SwimRVA as well. Next time you’re at SwimRVA-CSAC, stop and take a seat!
Rapids Programs Prepare for Championship Seasons
Our Rapids athletes have been hard at work preparing for an exciting championship season. Here’s what our teams have been up to:
- Artistic Swimming is preparing for Regionals on May 17-18, which serves as a qualifier for USA Artistic Swimming Junior Olympics (JOs). On top of that, our athletes have been dedicating extra time to train for Levels testing, which is a prerequisite for JOs.
- Water Polo has an exciting lineup of competitions spanning across the spring into the summer. The team will host a scrimmage early April, then travel to Penn State for the PA Cup in June and to Dallas, TX for Junior Olympics at the end of July.
- Swim Team wraps up the short course season at Eastern Zones in Webster, New York from April 2-5. The team then transitions into the long course season with a variety of meets across the summer, ending with championship opportunities of varying levels in July.
