What if I am an adult and do not know how to swim yet?
First, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. In fact, 50% of the entire population does not know how to swim! SwimRVA offers a station-based swim lesson program for adults on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 7-7:30PM. You can start anytime, we will pro-rate the first month and it auto-renews on the first of every month. You can cancel anytime with no questions asked!
Will I be able to swim faster once I complete the PUPS program?
The program will teach you a variety to techniques to be a more efficient and faster swimmer.
Do I have to be a SwimRVA Hammerhead member to participate in the PUPS program?
No you do not. However, you are welcome to join the team! The SwimRVA Hammerheads membership is $70 per month. You can start anytime and we will pro-rate the first month. After that it will auto-draft on the first of every month. You can cancel at the end of any month. We ask a 14 day written notice. To register for a membership please stop by our front desk.
Do I need to be registered with U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) to participate in the PUPS program?
No you do not. However, if you decide to join the Hammerheads team you will be required to be members of the United States Masters Swimming. The cost to join is $50 per year.
If I wan to try a practice with the Hammerheads do I have to be a member?
Yes and No. We do have day passes and 10-visit passes available. The day pass is $10 per visit or you can purchase a 10-visit pass for $90 (10% saving). However, these passes DO NOT get you in for the Sunday morning Open Water training sessions. You must be a member to participate in those.
