The 2024 SwimRVA New Year’s Challenge was a huge success! We challenged you all, and you CRUSHED IT!

This year’s New Year’s Challenge was a whirlwind, with so many dedicated and hardworking people from the community coming together and putting down some major yardage. Once again, you all have outdone previous years by completing EVEN MORE. Last year, you all swam 485,600 yards, and this year you all swam 491,700 yards. That is almost half of a MILLION yards in three hours!

2023 was a great year for SwimRVA as we saw 4,100 participants in our Learn-to-Swim Program, a jump in our numbers because we also increased from 23 schools participating in our program in 2022 to 29 schools in 2023, and we’re going for the mid-30s in 2024! For our entire Learn-to-Swim program, 63% of our participants were able to do it cost-free.   This would not be possible without the support we receive from the Greater Richmond region. Whenever anyone walks into our pools, they are helping promote a safer, healthier, and more active aquatic community in Richmond. We extend endless congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s New Year’s Challenge, and we can’t wait to see you throughout 2024!
