At SwimRVA, our WELLNESS mission is to prevent chronic disease and disability by promoting senior fitness within our active Richmond community. We understand the importance of all aspects of health and wellness: physical, emotional, social, and intellectual. As a team we want to provide you with the tools and education to help you maintain and improve your overall quality of life.
SwimRVA provides a variety of senior fitness opportunities including 70+ water and land-based group wellness classes. Our senior group exercise classes are zone-based for you to receive the most from your workouts. Below you will see the zones structure and under "Water Class Descriptions" and "Land Class Descriptions" you will find the maximum zone for each class.
ZONE 1: You are able to have a conversation with someone
ZONE 2: A little harder to have a conversation
ZONE 3: You are working hard and breathing hard
ZONE 4: Extremely hard, you are never at this intensity for more than 20 seconds at a time
SwimRVA offers FREE consultations to anyone. These consultations take about 30 minutes to complete. With this consultation you will meet with our Senior Wellness Coordinator. They will give you a brief and easy fitness test and then go over the best options for you. They will give you the direction to best meet your goals for what you are looking for!
