Located in Chesterfield County, SwimRVA serves the Greater Richmond area as a catalyst for regional aquatics and community-wide focus on water safety, health & fitness, sports tourism and competitive swimming.  We offer swimming lessons, water aerobics, aqua running, water polo, CPR & lifeguard certification courses, masters swimming, warm water therapy pool, land fitness classes, and youth triathlon training.

At SwimRVA, our WELLNESS mission is to prevent chronic disease and disability by promoting senior fitness within our active Richmond community.  We understand the importance of all aspects of health and wellness: physical, emotional, social, and intellectual.  As a team, we want to provide you with the tools and education to help you maintain and improve your overall quality of life.

SwimRVA provides a variety of senior fitness opportunities including 70+ water and land-based group wellness classes.  Our senior group exercise classes are zone-based for you to receive the most from your workouts.  Below you will see the zones structure and under "Water Class Descriptions" and "Land Class Descriptions" you will find the maximum zone for each class.

SwimRVA offers a nice variety of water fitness and aerobics classes.  We have everything including Aquacise, Aqua Boot Camp, Aqua Zumba, Deep Water and Arthritis Foundation.  These classes have grown in popularity due to our first class water fitness instructors, world-class aquatic facility, and fun atmosphere!

SwimRVA, at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center, offers several Land Fitness classes such as Cario Burn, Zumba, Core Training, Vinyasa Yoga and Gentle Hatha Yoga.

Whether you are a serious runner, training for multiple marathons a year, a recreational runner, just trying to stay fit, or a cardio junkie looking for something new, SwimRVA Running University has the program for you!

SwimRVA offers a nice variety of water fitness and aerobics classes.  We have everything including Aquacise, Aqua Boot Camp, Aqua Zumba, Deep Water and Arthritis Foundation.  These classes have grown in popularity due to our first class water fitness instructors, world-class aquatic facility, and fun atmosphere!

Aquacise/Silver Splash:

This is a low impact shallow water class that is designed to promote joint flexibility, the range of motion and agility while building cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength. The class is self-regulating: you determine the intensity anywhere from light to strenuous.

Deep Water:

This deep water class offers the ability to strengthen and tone muscles while building cardiovascular fitness with no impact. The class is fun, safe and versatile for any fitness level. Aqua-belts are provided and highly encouraged to be worn. Participants should be comfortable in deep water and should be prepared for a more intense workout than Aquacise.

Aqua Zumba:

If you are interested in a party in the pool then this class is for you! This is a low impact shallow water invigorating workout. Participants will splash, stretch, twist, shout and laugh in this safe and challenging class. You will also receive a workout that involves cardio-conditioning and a body toning experience. Think of your traditional aqua fitness class with a Latin flare.

Aqua Boot Camp:

A high-intensity shallow water class that is designed to challenge you! This class offers both cardio and toning components while using equipment and the water's resistance. This is a great addition to your cross-training fitness routine and swimming ability is not required.

Arthritis Foundation:

A recreational group exercise program that is offered in shallow warm-water. Designed to improve range of motion, muscle strength, and endurance. Participants can improve their overall health by increasing joint flexibility and reduce pain and stiffness while supported by water’s buoyancy and resistance. Suitable for every fitness level, the class is offered in a friendly environment that encourages social interaction.

H2O Fit:

This is a shallow water class designed to develop and maintain general components of Physical Fitness. Benefits of this class include flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance, balance and cardio-respiratory. You will work hard at your fitness level, but it will be fun. Join Us!
