About SwimRVA Water Polo:

SwimRVA Water Polo was started in the late summer/early fall of 2012 with one child, Timmy Soukop.  This determined young man with a rocket arm stood strong for four months waiting for the program to go.  In the late fall of 2013, Miras Jelic, former Serbian water polo professional, took over the head coaching position and the rest is history.  He brought with him a group of kids and parents that started the first ever Swim RVA Water Polo, Richmond's first and only youth water polo program.

SwimRVA Water Polo competes with other youth water polo teams from all along the east coast.  These other teams include Captial Water Polo, Navy AC Water Polo, Granite Falls Water PoloHampton Roads Water Polo, and ECAWP among other community teams.

Youth water polo has expanded over the last decade throughout the United States.  The east coast is catching up to the heavily populated sport that is growing strong on the west coast.  New teams are forming in Virginia, North Carolina, Washinton D.C., and surrounding states.  The ultimate goal is to have a team compete in the USA Water Polo Junior Olympic games in California.
