Located in Chesterfield County, SwimRVA serves the Greater Richmond area as a catalyst for regional aquatics and community-wide focus on water safety, health & fitness, sports tourism and competitive swimming.  We offer swimming lessons, water aerobics, aqua running, water polo, CPR & lifeguard certification courses, masters swimming, warm water therapy pool, land fitness classes, and youth triathlon training.

Operations Coordinator

SwimRVA is seeking a dynamic professional to work in a fun and exciting environment with a growing and mission driven non-profit.  The position is intended to manage maintenance and repair, ensure safety, and execute top-level events at SwimRVA’s state-of-the-art 56,000 sq ft facility that is home to the 2008 US Olympic Trials pool. The Operations Coordinator will also act as an administrative assistant to the Director of Operations.

Essential functions include:

  • Regular monitoring and coordination of maintenance for primary systems in an aquatic facility.
  • Maintain and log pool chemistry in accordance with local and state protocols.
  • Monitor and adjust facility safety strategies as needed to ensure well-being of all guests and employees.
  • Coordination and execution of competitive and non-competitive events.
  • Act as Manager on Duty during weekends on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and able to provide exceptional customer service.
  • 2 to 4 years/seasons of lifeguarding experience, supervision of a lifeguard team is a plus.
  • Current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid/CPR/AED, and Administering Emergency Oxygen or able to gain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator or possess commensurate experience with willingness to attain CPO or AFO certification.
  • Ability to work independently in addition to coordinating with other departments to maintain facility usability and flow.

Physical Requirments:

  • The Operations Coordinator will need to lift 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. as a team with the use of equipment.  This includes the ability to move, lift, carry or push heavy objects on a regular basis. 

Hours:

  • The Operations Coordinator position is a non-exempt full time position with an expectation of 40 hours per week.  Successful candidates will exhibit flexibility in scheduling, which can include, evenings, rotating weekends, and early mornings.

Compensation:

  • SwimRVA is offering this position with an annual salary of $28,000.  In addition to salary, SwimRVA will also provide a benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and eligibility for employer matched retirement plan after 1 year of service.
